Biola University

It is ok to be fake Christians. No one care. This is called culture Christian. No one mean it. Sigh. Professor try to give godly ‘customer service’, but we don’t have to live it out, we just enjoy the 5 star service. ‘Culture Christian’, with that being said, we have similar culture background. For example, I watched the TV show or music before. This should be considered as ‘cultural’. Same goes to Christian culture. Tribalism. It is culture, people don’t have to live out the principles or don’t take it seriously. People come to Biola for good weather, Hollywood, Disneyland and something else. Pretty dry campus. Sigh, life is so short, and it is time to move on …. Sad

A very positive university. They are a positive member of the community. The parking is plentiful. If you are going to live near a university Biola is the place. Biola’s campus is surrounded by a calm community, they are regularly putting back into the community. They offer swimming and soccer during the summer for youth. Their academic standards are no slouch. Their international programs are amazing! I cannot say enough good things about Biola University!

Biola construction team, the leader Eduardo Martinez take his son with him during work, I suspect that behavior is favoritism. meanwhile, I notice they gave a hard time to student workers, especially foreign students, these foreign students are at disadvantaged position, even though they paid tons of money to this university every year, everyone knows that USA universities depend on the tuition from foreign students, but he didn't give the respect they deserve!!!! these hard-working students come all the way here without knowing anything in a foreign country at a disadvantaged position, which is so easily taken advantage of by some bad people. I heard some students complain about it in secret. personally, I accepted verbal abuse from construction team! That value is not based on the Bible. Biola is a famous Christ-centered university, I am begging that top manager takes this into consideration and do some investigation to create better working environment. Biola university need to work harder to pick good employees. Last but not the least!!! Let me clarify something, if the cause is due to the clumsiness of rookie student workers, I won't leave comments on here, I don't think Biola hire good leader like Eduardo. that is why he is not in charge of a bigger team so far, he only boss around some poor students.

Summary: I love Biola's community, but the powers-that-be are prioritizing the wrong things. There are many outstanding individuals at Biola, and I remain a student here because of them. My problem lies with an administration that prioritizes profitability over Christlike care for the community that I love. I struggle to find a biblically consistent reason for giving higher-ups a pay raise while firing many beloved faculty and staff and raising the cost of tuition, especially given that many of the higher-ups live in luxury. It's not Christlike; it's not biblical. It goes against Biola's motto, "all as one," and it goes against Biola's commitment to forming a biblically-centered community. To end on a positive note, I would still highly recommend attending Biola if you are a prospective student. The numerous individual staff and faculty members who serve their students with excellence and passion made my Biola experience absolutely worthwhile.
